In fact, the fee is pre-negotiated before the house even hits the market.  This means that as a buyer, you get the professional help of buying a home at the expense of the seller and its absolutely FREE to you. Often times we see home buyers try to tackle the home buying process alone, or worst, they think the listing agent is going to give them a better deal. The UGLY truth is the listing agent has been hired by the seller to get the most money as possible for their client, the Seller. The Sellers agent will often times have the Sellers best interest in mind during negotiations. The second ugly truth is that the listing agent will now receive both sides of the commission which is supposed to be reserved for your represented agent.
