Aventuur is an Australian-based, integrated surf park developer. It’s true, they chose Jacksonville as their next location. The global company operates with the mission to enhance physical and mental well being by curating deeply connected communities bound by a love of surfing.
Jacksonville Surf Park
Jacksonville Surf Park is expected to open in late 2027. The park will be located at eTown, a master planned community on the Southside of Duval County.
Not only will the surf park offer perfect waves and inclusive coaching programs in the safety of a controlled environment, but there’s more.
According to a News4Jax article, the surf park will also include, “a high-performance surf academy, recovery and fitness studios, surf rental, skate park and pump track will complement the surfing lagoon, along with a member’s lounge, beach club, quality restaurants and bars, rooftop glamping accommodation, Rip Curl flagship store and community amenities including naturescaped gardens, lawns and a kids playground.”
Furthermore, the company places great importance on creating a genuine surf experience, for each surf park’s unique culture and environment. According to surfer.com, Aventuur “see their developments as opportunities for ‘blue health’, including surf therapy, community activations and youth programs.” Their inclusive business model accommodates surfers of all different ages and abilities.
Wavegarden Technology
Aventuur will utilize Wavegarden technology to build the surf park. Wavegarden technology specializes in sustainable practices that minimize energy and water consumption. Jacksonville Surf Park will feature the 56 module Wavegarden Cove that produces up to 1,000 perfect waves per hour.
